The Regimental Association of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment

The President's Award

The President's Award

The idea of an award for those who have contributed significantly to the Regimental Association had been considered a number of times over the years, but never got off the ground.  Early in 2007 the Regimental Association Committee decided it was time to stop talking and take some action!

The outcome is The President’s Award in recognition of ‘long and distinguished service given to the Devonshire and Dorset Regimental Association’.  The award takes the form of a signed certificate and a unique lapel badge, which is normally presented by the President at the annual Regimental Reunion.

The 2017 President's Award winners are:

After years of painstaking preparation, pivotal decisions, detailed staff work, artistic endeavour and comprehensive fundraising, we finally and formally launched our National Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum on Sunday 17 September. Through this website, we have all become familiar with the three harmonised figures of West Country infantrymen, designed and fashioned by our sculptor, Vivien Mallock, from their origin as scale models, through the design, production and casting stages, from miniature to life-sized and from clay to bronze.
